Dr. Lily Mark-Maasdam
Dr. Lily grew up in South Bend, Indiana and earned her Bachelors of Science from the University of Notre Dame. After graduating from the Illinois College of Optometry in 1998, she took a chance and moved west to practice in Iowa. Providing high level medical optometry in Knoxville, Dr. Lily and her husband, Dr. Jason, have owned and cared for their patients together at Eye Health Solutions for over 25 years.
When not at work, Dr. Lily loves playing and coaching tennis, cooking and entertaining, and listening to 80’s new wave music, all interests which she has passed on to her lovely daughters, Olivia and Janie. Together, the Maasdam family dote on Cosmo, their Zuchon fur baby whose photos have overtaken Dr. Lily’s camera roll on her phone.
Dr. Jason Maasdam
Dr. Jason Maasdam is an Iowa native and owner of Eye Health Solutions, where he is committed to delivering high-quality eye care in a modern, patient-focused environment. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Northern Iowa and his Doctor of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry, graduating with clinical honors in the treatment and management of ocular disease.
His clinical training includes advanced experience in ocular disease at the University of Chicago, Sidney Hillman Health Center, the Illinois Eye Institute, and the Tuscaloosa Veterans Hospital in Alabama. With over 25 years of experience, Dr. Maasdam has a special interest in glaucoma, dry eye, and leveraging technology to enhance patient outcomes.
He currently serves as President of the Iowa Optometric Association, where he works to advance the profession and improve access to eye care across the state. At Eye Health Solutions, Dr. Maasdam is focused on keeping the practice at the forefront of optometric care—integrating state-of-the-art technology with an efficient, seamless patient experience designed for today’s busy lifestyles.
Outside the office, he enjoys spending time with his family and getting out on the trail for a run.
